In-depth training: Early Years Number Sense Teaching
This course provides an opportunity to discuss and learn about the research, pedagogy and principles behind developing number sense in the early years, and will help you to get the most out of the Early Years Number Sense programme. Teachers join a group of engaged practitioners, sharing advice and support in the training sessions and in the online community group for the course.
The course costs £45+vat per person and is open to teachers/TAs at subscribing schools.
Course content and approach
The Early Years Number Sense in-depth course covers both the pedagogy and research behind our Early Years Number Sense programme, and also the 'programme practicalities' of how to get up and running with the programme in your school.
The course is predominantly for Reception practitioners, although the pedagogical subject knowledge elements of the course are also relevant to nursery practitioners. Maths leaders and school leaders will also find the course a useful way to understand early number, the programme, and the progression into the KS1 curriculum.
Course dates and booking
Our Early Years Number Sense Teaching in-depth course is run six times a year, on either a Tuesday or a Thursday morning. The course is one half-day, with all sessions held over zoom.
