Free Resources - Number Facts
The Number Facts Fluency programme has a comprehensive set of teaching and assessment resources for every stage of the programme. Here is a sample of the resources you will find for every teaching step in every stage, and an example of an end of stage assessment pack.
Teaching Points and Activities
For each teaching step, in every stage of the programme, key teaching points are explained so that teachers have a good understanding of what children need to learn. The teaching points also introduce the models used in each section. The teaching points can be printed out for other adults working with the children to make sure the same language is used and the same points are emphasised. Suggestions for practical activities and games which introduce each concept are also provided for both the classroom and for at home.
This pack contains all the Teaching Points and Activities for Ten and A Bit (Stage 4), including a home school communication page to help families understand what their children are learning and how they can support at home.

A series of animations develops children's understanding of number and quantity. The animations expose the mathematical structures in number and calculation, and relate equation solving to every day contexts. This deepens understanding which supports fluency. The animations provided for each teaching step are progressive; scaffolds are withdrawn through each teaching sequence as the children build confidence and understanding.

The animations available on the portal include animations to support partitioning of each number to 10, and animations to support adding across 10.
There is a set of pupil exercises for each teaching step in the programme. The exercises can be printed out from the portal or snipped and inserted into lesson slides. Visual images are provided to support the understanding of each concept and provide scaffolding for the children. The exercises are progessive, with prompts gradually withdrawn as the children's fluency develops. All of the exercises come with Talking Tips at the bottom of the page. These tips provide support to adults on what to draw out on each page and the language to use to reinforce learning. Parents have found the talking tips very useful when sheets have been sent home.
This pack contains a selection of the exercises that support pupils learning doubles facts within 10, and using them to calculate near doubles, such as 4 + 3 (Stage 3, teaching step 6). Teaching children to "use what they know to work out what they don't yet know" is an important focus of the programme.
